Vienna State Opera

The Vienna State Opera was badly damaged during the Second World War, but was restored immediately afterwards with great effort and a beautiful mixture of historicism (exterior) and modern interior architecture.

It is definitely one of the best opera houses in the world. Whether opera, ballet or theatre, there's something going on here every night! One night a year, the Vienna State Opera is transformed into a grand dance floor - at the Vienna Opera Ball, Austria's largest meeting place for artists, politicians and entrepreneurs from all over the world. More than a hundred debutante couples open this ball of balls at the State Opera.
